Prickly Pear Jam - 425g

These cactus fruit is called “Bajtar” (/bytar/) in Maltese and is found in abundance growing on uncultivated land in Malta and Gozo. The cactus flower blossoms in spring and produces a green fruit, which by summer ripens to a rich orange, red colour with black pips inside. Our delicious conserve is made from 100% ripened cactus fruit pulp. The pips are removed, ground and used as a natural thickener. The cactus fruit is a high antioxidant capacity.
